The General Medical Council has updated the principles of Good Medical Practice, setting out new standards of patient care and professional behaviour expected of all doctors, which come into effect on 30th January 2024.
The GMC advises that these standards are designed to ‘focus on behaviours and values which support good teamwork, make people feel safe to speak up, and empower doctors to provide quality care.’ You can read the updated guidance here.
We wanted to reassure you that we are aware of these updates and have already made changes reflecting these to the ‘summary of discussion’ section of our Clarity software.
However, we also provide the option for appraisers to use the previous Good Medical Practice standards until the changes come into effect.
