The vet whisperer

This course names the six specific drivers of self-doubt that affect vets and nurses daily — and gives you a practical framework to protect your mental health and keep performing at your best.

Building a Sustainable Veterinary Practice

Running a practice that works long-term means getting the systems, culture, and people right. This course gives practice managers and vets the foundations to build a practice that is better to work in for the whole team.

Stress management

A stressed team is harder to retain, less motivated, and more likely to burn out. This course covers the causes of workplace stress in veterinary practice and the practical steps individuals and managers can take to reduce it.

Adult basic life support

This course covers cardiorespiratory arrest, choking, the recovery position, and AED use so that every member of your practice team can respond with confidence when it matters.

Equality and diversity

A legal requirement and a practical necessity. This course covers what equality and diversity mean in a veterinary workplace, your responsibilities as an employer or team member, and how to apply it day to day.

Introduction to Neurodiversity and Reasonable Adjustments

Around one in seven people are neurodivergent. This course helps practice teams understand what that means in a workplace context, how to make reasonable adjustments, and how to get the best from every member of your team.

Does iLearn’s free veterinary CPD count towards RCVS hours?

Yes. The RCVS confirms that any learning relevant to your professional role counts towards the annual CPD requirement, including non-clinical topics such as communication, management, and wellbeing. Veterinary surgeons need 35 CPD hours per year and registered veterinary nurses need 15 hours.

Every completed iLearn course generates a CPD certificate automatically. Save it and attach it to your activity record in the RCVS 1CPD app. Your hours are logged, your certificate is stored, and your compliance is on track.

For a full explanation of RCVS requirements and what counts, see our guide: RCVS CPD requirements for veterinary professionals.

Who are the free courses for?

iLearn is built for every role in a veterinary practice, not just clinical staff. Whether you are a practice owner looking to support your whole team’s development, a vet working towards your 35-hour RCVS annual requirement, or a receptionist completing mandatory training, the free courses are open to you.

Veterinary surgeons

Need 35 hours of CPD per year under RCVS requirements. The free iLearn courses cover non-clinical topics including stress management, wellbeing, equality and diversity, and neurodiversity, all of which count towards that total. For a full guide to planning your CPD year and what qualifies, see our online CPD for vets page.

Registered veterinary nurses

Have a 15-hour annual CPD requirement set by the RCVS. The free courses available through iLearn are directly applicable to day-to-day practice life and each one generates a certificate on completion, ready to log in the RCVS 1CPD app. For a full breakdown of what counts and how to plan your CPD year, visit our veterinary nurse CPD guide.

Veterinary care assistants and veterinary receptionists

May not have mandatory CPD requirements in the same way, but ongoing training makes a real difference to confidence, compliance, and team culture. Courses such as Adult Basic Life Support, Equality and Diversity, and Introduction to Neurodiversity are particularly relevant for whole-team use.

Practice managers and practice owners

Will find the free courses useful both for their own development and as a way to introduce iLearn to the team before committing to a full subscription. The Building a Sustainable Veterinary Practice course is written specifically with practice leadership in mind.
