Agilio, a leading UK frontline healthcare operations software provider, today announced its second acquisition in the Netherlands – adding a specialist primary care compliance solution to its portfolio.
The company has acquired PraQties, founded by business administration specialist Esther Gjaltema in 2012 to provide comprehensive compliance documentation and support for GP practices. Esther will remain with the business as it becomes part of Agilio Netherlands, a leading provider of out-of-hours GP scheduling software.
The deal continues Agilio’s ambitious plans for international and sector growth following investment by Five Arrows, the alternative assets arm of Rothschild & Co, and TA Associates, a leading global private equity firm, earlier in 2024.
Agilio’s first international acquisition was Netherlands-based GP scheduling software provider InterShift in October 2022.
Agilio CEO Neil Laycock said: “The acquisition of PraQties is in line with our strategy to expand internationally and grow our sector footprint. It’s a fantastic business with strong growth potential, which we will support with technical investment and the resources of our Dutch team.
“Over time, we will integrate PraQties capabilities into our core technology platform – giving GPs in the Netherlands access to best-of-breed solutions through a single log-in.”
PraQties founder Esther Gjaltema added: “Having built a highly respected business over more than a decade, I am delighted to have the opportunity to accelerate its future growth as part of Agilio Netherlands.
“Compliance and accreditation are becoming ever more important and complex in primary care in the Netherlands. I look forward to supporting more GPs with our solution – helping to increase efficiency and reduce stress.”
Hein Vrins, Managing Director of Agilio Netherlands, said: “This acquisition demonstrates Agilio’s commitment to the Dutch market, with the addition of a complementary asset that has the potential to benefit thousands of GPs.
“The Dutch team is delighted to welcome Esther on board and to begin the next stage of our journey to make working life better for healthcare professionals.”
