Agilio enters next chapter as Rick Medlock joins as Chairman

Experienced technology leader joins Agilio as the business builds on strong momentum

Agilio Software has appointed experienced technology leader Rick Medlock as Chairman, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued development.

Rick succeeds Dr Sati Sian, who will step back from the role of Chairman while remaining on the Board as a Non-Executive Director. The move ensures Agilio continues to benefit from Sati’s deep sector expertise and long-standing knowledge of the business, while adding fresh experience to support its next phase of growth.

The appointment comes as Agilio continues to strengthen its position as a leading provider of healthcare operations software across dentistry, primary care, pharmacy and veterinary practice, helping thousands of healthcare organisations simplify compliance, improve efficiency and create more time for patient care.

Dr Ben Betts, Chief Executive Officer of Agilio, said:

‘Few people have had a greater influence on Agilio’s development than Sati. From the earliest stages of the business, he has been a trusted adviser, mentor and leader whose contribution has helped shape the company we are today.

‘While we’re delighted that Sati will remain on the Board, this is also the right moment to bring in additional experience and perspective to support the next stage of our journey. Rick’s track record speaks for itself, and we’re thrilled to welcome him as Chairman.’

Built for growth

Over a career spanning more than 30 years, Rick has built a reputation for helping technology and software businesses scale, transform and create value.

He has played a central role in four stock market listings, ten business exits and numerous acquisitions, working across both public companies and private equity-backed organisations. His executive experience includes serving as Chief Financial Officer of Worldpay, where he helped lead the business through its successful London Stock Exchange listing in 2015.

His board experience includes organisations such as Deliveroo, Sophos and Smith + Nephew, while he has also advised and chaired a range of growing businesses through periods of transformation and expansion.

Ben added:

‘As we look ahead, our focus remains on helping healthcare professionals spend less time managing complexity and more time delivering outstanding care.

‘Rick brings a unique blend of strategic, operational and financial experience, having helped ambitious businesses capitalise on the opportunities and overcome the challenges that come with growth. His insight will be invaluable as we continue to invest in our products, our people and the markets we serve.’

A strong platform for the future

Having worked with a number of high-growth technology businesses throughout his career, Rick said Agilio’s combination of market leadership, sector expertise and customer focus made the opportunity particularly compelling.

‘Healthcare providers face increasing operational pressures, and technology has an important role to play in helping organisations work more effectively and sustainably.

‘What impressed me about Agilio is the combination of strong market positions, talented people and a genuine commitment to supporting healthcare professionals. The business has built an excellent platform for future growth, underpinned by solutions that solve real challenges for customers every day.

‘I’m excited to be joining at such an important point in Agilio’s development and look forward to working with Ben, Sati and the wider team to help realise the significant opportunities ahead.’

Focusing on what matters most

With Rick now joining the Board as Chairman and Sati continuing to support the business as a Non-Executive Director, Agilio enters its next chapter with both continuity and fresh perspective.

As healthcare providers face growing operational pressures, the company remains focused on developing the technology, insight and support that help professionals spend less time managing complexity and more time caring for patients.
