The Importance of Collaboration Within Primary Care

At Clarity Informatics, our best results come through collaborating with other experts within the industry. From our longstanding relationship with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to provide Clinical Knowledge Summaries, to our latest partnership with Medi2Data to help GP practices save time and money, we’ve learned that combining the strengths of many is more effective than going it alone.

The primary care sector is full of organisations working to support healthcare professionals, and through collaboration we can ensure that these professionals can provide their patients with the best care available.

Learning and Listening to Others

As a business, it’s important to recognise where your own strengths lie, as well as recognising when they differ from the strengths of other organisations.

Collaborative opportunities can be especially fruitful at events such as Best Practice, giving us the chance to see the industry innovations and their creators in person.

Working Towards a Common Goal

Our goal is to seek out and create solutions that will help GP practices to save time and money, and to help professionals focus on the job at hand.

However, we know that this is also a goal for hundreds of organisations who are finding different ways for practices to save time and money. For example, Medi2Data has developed a free-to-use software to help save GP practices hundreds of pounds a week in admin time by making a time-consuming process automatic. Technology like this perfectly aligns with the goals of our TeamNet software, working towards reducing administrative hassle from practice managers so the focus can be on giving patients the best care.

It can be more hassle for a practice manager to take charge of multiple systems and providers, so by collaborating and integrating with other organisations, we can complement each other in working towards saving GP practices time and money.

Expanding into New Markets

Collaborating with a like-minded business is an effective way of opening your services to new markets and areas who you may not have previously known would benefit from your products. We have recently worked with Cegedim Healthcare Solutions, who identify products that may be beneficial for healthcare professionals through their partner programme. This has given Scottish and Welsh General Practices easier access to Clarity TeamNet. Also, our partnership with Primary Integrated Community Services (PICS) on our new product – Clarity for FCPs – has meant that we could really understand what would make the learning journey of a FCP easier.

For the Benefit of the Community

As important as collaboration within the industry is, not all partnerships are about business growth but can help to benefit the local community. We have worked with a number of different North East charities, and we continue to partner with Newcastle’s Children’s Heart Unit Fund to provide technology and funding to make life better for young people with heart conditions and their families.

Our curiosity and awe of other organisations’ and business’ innovation and creativity, beyond Primary Care, means that we will always look for inventive ways to work with others to continue to help those working in Primary Care, and our wider community.
