Care Plans

Ideal for established practices with a stable patient list. Care plans include routine dental treatment such as fillings, crowns and bridges but excludes specialist treatments and laboratory bills.

Care Plans

A Care Plan in Dentistry is a comprehensive package offered by dental practices to patients, which includes routine treatments and services at a fixed cost. The purpose of a Care Plan is to provide patients with predictable dental care and allow them to budget for their dental expenses. However, the specific details of a Care Plan can vary between dental practices.

It’s important for patients to understand the details and coverage of a specific Care Plan offered by their dental practice. Care Plans can vary in terms of what treatments are included, the cost structure, and the level of coverage provided. Therefore, patients should consult with their dental provider to clarify any questions or concerns they may have regarding the specific terms and conditions of the Care Plan being offered.

What is and isn’t covered

  • Routine Treatment

Typically, a Care Plan includes routine dental treatments such as fillings, root canals, crowns, bridges, and dentures. These treatments are considered essential for maintaining oral health and addressing common dental issues. The cost of these routine treatments is usually covered by the monthly payment included in the Care Plan.

  • Cosmetic Treatment

It is important to note that cosmetic treatments, which are primarily focused on improving the appearance of teeth rather than addressing functional or health concerns, are usually excluded from a Care Plan. This means that treatments like teeth whitening or veneers are typically not covered and would need to be paid for separately.

  • Oral Health Assessment

In order to determine the appropriate payment level for a patient, the dental practice conducts a dental examination to assess their oral health. The patient’s dental history, existing conditions, and treatment needs are taken into consideration during this assessment. Based on the findings, the patient is placed into a specific category that determines the monthly payment they will be charged. Patients with a history of poor dental health and a higher likelihood of requiring extensive treatment may be assigned to a higher payment category compared to those with good oral health and fewer treatment needs.
