Agilio Value Award Winner Interview Series

Matthew Hardy, Technical Sales & Support- Hospital Division

Continuously Improving by Constantly Measuring Award Winner

In light of our recent Agilio Value Awards, we sat down with the winners to chat about their awards, their roles, and what it’s like to work at Agilio. Here we speak with Matthew Hardy, Technical Sales & Support in the Hospital Division and joint-winner of the Continuously Improving by Constantly Measuring Award.

Matthew played an integral role in delivering several group-wide software implementation projects and the team regards him highly having acted as the go-to guy for any technical questions. He goes above and beyond for his colleagues as well as our clients and you’ll often find him seeking new ways to improve how we do things in Agilio.

This is a well-deserved recognition, and we are incredibly proud to have Matthew on our team.

Matthew, please tell us what your role in Agilio entails.

My official job description is the Technical & Sales Support for our Hospital Division, however, on a day-to-day basis, I would describe myself as the go-to person for any technical enquiries and improvements within the Hospital Division. This means a lot of my time goes into providing different teams across our division, from website development to Lab Team and Hospital iLearn team, with whatever technical support they need. Most recently, I’ve been involved in a few major internal software integrations across the group.

What’s your favourite part of the job and why?

My favourite part of the job is definitely the fact that Agilio nurtures a culture where I can be myself, which in return motivates and encourages me to try new things. It is a great feeling to know that I can experiment with new things and will be supported when it doesn’t go according to the plan. It’s very reassuring and fulfilling to know that my place in the team is valued and that my opinions and ideas are heard and respected.

Other than winning your value award, what is your proudest achievement at Agilio?

To be completely honest, I believe that all of our achievements have been reached through a team effort rather than just myself individually.  So, my proudest achievement would be playing a part in such a strong team and the way we, together, tackled the significant changes to our system and the way we work over the last year. It’s not been an easy time over the past few years with lockdowns and market changes due to Brexit followed by the cost-of-living crisis, but we have managed to remain consistent and perform well regardless of what we are facing.

What are your hopes for Agilio in the future?

Each division in the Agilio Group was born out of a passion for making an impact on the healthcare industry, and my hope is that we can continue to protect the drive and mindset of small businesses as we continue to grow bigger. We were once a small business; everyone’s journey starts somewhere, and I hope that we can keep sight of that going forwards.

It is crucial for a business with such rapid growth to make every member of our team feel valued, as people work best when they are happy and striving for something bigger than themselves. So, I hope we can continue to harbour a culture of valuing our teams and allowing people the freedom to carve their own niche and their own approach to their work. I feel that is how we get the best results.

Thank you for your time, Matthew. Do you have anything else you would like to add?

Just that it was a pleasant surprise to have been recognised for this award. I genuinely wasn’t expecting it, and it’s really rewarding to know that my colleagues see me in this light.
