Covid-19 self isolation

Changes to self-isolation for fully vaccinated

If the Government makes the decision for the UK to move to step 4 of the Covid-19 roadmap, from 16th August 2021, double vaccinated people will no longer be legally required to self-isolate if they are identified as a close contact of someone confirmed as positive with COVID-19.

The Government also plans to exempt those aged under 18 from self-isolation if they are a close contact.

If an individual receives their second vaccination dose just before, or after, the 16th August, they will need to wait until two weeks after they get the second jab to not be required to self-isolate.

If identified as a close contact you will continue to be advised to take a PCR test. Anyone who tests positive will still be legally required to self-isolate.
